
NOUVOBANQ 35th ANNIVERSARY ESSAY COMPETITION
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1. Organiser
The Essay Competition is organised by Nouvobanq as part of its 35th Anniversary celebrations.
2. Eligibility
The competition is open to students enrolled in recognised educational institutions in Seychelles.
Participants must fall within one of the following categories:
Primary
Secondary
Post-Secondary / University
3. Essay Questions
Primary School
Question:
A day in the life of a coin – from my piggy bank to the bank!
Secondary School
Question:
If I started a business tomorrow, how would I manage my money wisely?
Post-Secondary / University
Question:
How can sustainable banking contribute to Seychelles' blue and green economy?
4. Competition Period
The competition opens on Thursday 12th March 2026 and closes on Sunday 12th April 2026.
Entries submitted after the closing date will not be considered.
5. Submission Rules
Each participant may submit one (1) essay only.
All essays must be submitted in PDF format to Corporateaffairs@nouvobanq.sc.
Essays must be original work. Plagiarism or the use of artificial intelligence tools to generate content will result in disqualification.
Entries must include:
Participant’s full name
School/institution
Competition category
Contact details
Parent/guardian details for minors
6. Judging
Entries will be judged by an independent panel appointed by Nouvobanq.
The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
7. Prizes
Prizes will be awarded per category as follows:
Primary Category
1st Prize: SCR 1,000
2nd Prize: SCR 800
3rd Prize: SCR 500
Secondary Category
1st Prize: SCR 1,500
2nd Prize: SCR 1,000
3rd Prize: SCR 800
Post-Secondary / University Category
1st Prize: SCR 2,000
2nd Prize: SCR 1,500
3rd Prize: SCR 1,000
Prizes are non-transferable and non-exchangeable.
Nouvobanq reserves the right to substitute prizes with alternatives of equal value if necessary.
8. Prize Payment
Cash prizes will be paid via bank transfer.
Winners who do not currently hold a Nouvobanq bank account will be required to open a bank account with Nouvobanq in order to receive their prize money.
For winners under the age of 18, a parent or legal guardian will be required to assist with the account opening process in accordance with the Bank’s requirements.
Prize payments will only be processed once all required account documentation and verification procedures have been completed.
9. Winner Announcement
Winners will be announced on Nouvobanq’s official communication channels.
Winners will be contacted directly using the contact details provided in their submission.
Winners may be required to attend a prize-giving ceremony or participate in media engagements.
10. Use of Entries
By entering the competition, participants (or parents/guardians where applicable) grant Nouvobanq a perpetual, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to:
Publish and display submitted essays.
Use participants’ names, photographs, and entries for promotional and marketing purposes related to the 35th Anniversary celebrations.
No additional compensation shall be payable for such use.
11. Data Protection
Personal information collected for the purpose of this Competition shall be processed in accordance with applicable data protection laws in Seychelles.
Information will be used solely for administration, communication, and promotional purposes relating to the Competition.
12. Disqualification
Nouvobanq reserves the right to disqualify any participant who:
Submits plagiarised or fraudulent entries
Breaches these Terms and Conditions
Engages in misconduct or misrepresentation
Disqualified participants shall forfeit any entitlement to prizes.
13. Limitation of Liability
Nouvobanq shall not be liable for:
Loss, damage, or delay of entries
Technical failures
Any injury, loss, or damage arising from participation in the Competition or use of prizes, except where caused by the Bank’s gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
14. General
Nouvobanq reserves the right to amend, suspend, or cancel the competition at any time without prior notice.
Any amendments will be communicated through official Nouvobanq channels.
Participation in the competition implies full acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Seychelles, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Seychelles courts.
